The Key Collector

What happens to all the lost keys? Car keys, house keys, diary keys, skeleton keys...they all have to go someplace. Somewhere, somehow, there is a great magical whitetail monster buck who finds these missing keys, scoops them up with great care, and stores them on his mighty rack...never to be seen again, because the key keeper buck is very elusive.....I am not on drugs.
Tune in next week to find out where the missing socks go.

Smashing Apps
Website I found that lists "free and useful online resources for designers and developers." Not really illustration-related, but still cool.
http://www.smashingapps.com/
This page in particular deals with javascripts. I found a link to a website that had free code for a carousel gallery that uses javascripts that I'm considering using for my tshirt website.

Tyrannosaurus Tex

My latest idea for a shirt design. Started off as a doodle of a T-rex clinging onto a rocket for dear life and zooming in circles towards the edge of the page. Next to it, I drew another rocket with a brontosaurus hanging onto it, neck flailing about but laughing and holding a cowboy hat.
From these two doodles and encouragement from my brother who was peering over my shoulder, "Tyrannosaurus Tex" was born: the Jurassic space cowboy who roams the galaxy in search of danger....or fresh meat.

Open 4- Tee

So I spent this whole week working mostly on tshirt designs and didn't have time to make any illustrations for my sketchbook. Then I realized, "Duh! I have been illustrating every day this week for these designs--which ARE illustrations!"
The open coxless four (viking, scuba diver, mermaid, and pirate) is probably my favorite of the ones that I finished this week. I'm really pleased with it, considering I had to redraw it four times :-D

Poker with the Joker
Here is a print I made over the summer in the screen printing course I took at UTK:

Our assignment was to make a print using appropriated imagery. I took the Dogs Playing Poker paintings by C. M. Coolidge, Bob Kane's Batman and Joker, Jack Kirby/Joe Simon's Captain America, and Chuck Norris, to create an epic battle of cards.
The dimensions are 15" x 20" and I managed to pull off the whole 8-color print using only black, and transparent layers of red, yellow, and blue ink. I'm very proud of it, and if I ever find the time, I would love to make some more.
